Jeffersonville, Ind.: Clark Memorial Hospital hosts men’s health fair and car show

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (May 20, 2015) — The annual Men’s Health Fair and Car Show will be held on the grounds of Clark Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. rain or shine. The event is an opportunity to keep your health in mint condition and view a variety of classic cars. Activities will be both inside and outside the hospital and include numerous health screenings, health-related information, giveaways, food, music and cars.

Inside the hospital, free health screenings and information booths will be set up on the main floor and lower level. In addition, Safety Net will present an educational seminar on “A Guy’s Guide to First Aid” in the lower level at 10:30 a.m.

At registration, attendees will receive a Health Passport card. By having their Passport stamped at a minimum of three screenings or attendance at the educational seminar and visiting at least 15 vendor booths attendees will be entered to win the grand prize of a $200 gift card to Bass Pro Shop.

Health screening areas include:
•    cholesterol profile and PSA (eight hour fast recommended)
•    vision
•    hearing
•    blood pressure
•    foot

Other booths will offer exercise, fitness and weight loss, orthopedics and spine, heart and vascular health risk assessments, Lung Aware risk assessment, HIP 2.0 Healthy Indiana Plan information, smoking cessation and many other health related topics. The Colon Cancer Prevention Project will have a walk-through inflatable colon located at the hospital.

The health screenings phone-in line will be open until noon Thursday, May 28 for appointments. However, limited walk-in appointments will be available the day of the event. Fasting is required. The Wild-side Mustangs will host the annual car show located in the parking lot directly across from the main entrance of the hospital. The car show is open to all vehicles and motorcycles. The registration fee is $15. Trophies and awards will be presented by a panel of judges at 1 p.m. to the owners of the top cars. For more information about the car show, call (812) 923-8637.
