Hemmer breaks ground on industrial building near CVG airport

Prologis calls on Hemmer to build new distribution center in Hebron, Ky.

Hebron, Ky. – Paul Hemmer Company has broken ground on a 520,000-square-foot industrial facility being built on speculation for Prologis.

Prologis is a leading global owner, operator and developer of industrial real estate.

The company contracted with Hemmer this spring for the project, continuing a relationship that dates back 20 years. Hemmer has constructed more than 17 buildings, comprising nearly 7 million square feet for Prologis. In 2014, Hemmer finished a 770,000-square-foot center in Columbus.

The industrial distribution facility, named Prologs Gateway International, is located near the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. The complex will have a 32-foot clear height and up to 150 dock doors. The spec project is being launched at a time of high market demand for distribution space in the region.

Hemmer is applying a fast-track construction schedule for the project. This method allows fast-track construction of large buildings by utilizing pre-cast concrete wall panels that are fabricated off site and delivered to the building site. Construction is expected to be completed in December 2015.
