LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 18, 2015) — Mayor Greg Fischer and the Louisville Downtown Partnership (LDP) celebrated the reopening of Guthrie Street on Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a “Food Truck Roundup” for Downtown professionals to linger and enjoy lunch on the newly refurbished street.

“In addition to the sidewalk and streetscape improvements that we completed last year, and with major new tenants such as the Embassy Suites and Hilton Garden Inn, 4th Street from Ali to Broadway is transforming into a unique retail and restaurant corridor,” Fischer said.

Space has been redesigned to accommodate large outdoor events, said Rebecca Matheny, Executive Director of LDP. “It also brings an important circulation to the South Fourth Street area which is experiencing a resurgence with local retail shops and popular restaurants.”
