Tremors measured 2.7 on Richter scale
Shelbyville, Ky. – Shelbyville and other nearby residents may have felt the ground rustling beneath their feet last night.
The U.S. Geological Survey has confirmed that a light earthquake hit Shelbyville Monday night just before 11 p.m. The earthquake measured a 2.7 magnitude on the Richter scale, which USGS considers “light” activity resulting in no damage. The quake was centered 6 miles northwest of Shelbyville and could be felt in nearby counties.
Some Louisville media outlets are reporting that viewers felt slight tremors during the trembles.
