Free workshop to focus on workplace inclusion of people with disabilities

Scheduled for Tuesday in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 22, 2015) — The Center for Nonprofit Excellence and Jewish Family and Careers Services are hosting a free workshop from 9-11 a.m. on Oct. 27 on workplace inclusion of people with disabilities.

fes-network-logo-tight_original_crop“Beyond Barriers: Enriching and Diversifying Your Workplace through Inclusion of People with Disabilities” will focus on the merits, best practices and data behind the movement to increase hiring from the disabled population.

Participants will learn to:

  • Explain how employers benefit from hiring people with disabilities.
  • Identify barriers to workplace inclusion and distinguish between different types of barriers (e.g. attitudes vs. practices).
  • Identify strategies for dismantling barriers to inclusion and generate personal action items or steps that they will take to move our community toward greater access to meaningful employment for people with disabilities.
