Kentucky institute exploring medical solutions in space, fellowship available

Lexington, Ky. – The Exomedicine Institute, a unique enterprise (headquartered in Kentucky) focused on the research and development of medical solutions in the microgravity environment of space for applications on Earth, is looking for an innovative individual to join an interdisciplinary team exploring a new frontier in medicine.

Applications are invited for a Fellowship from suitable candidates having a Master’s Degree, M.D, Ph.D. or equivalent in a biomedical science discipline. The term of the Fellowship is for one-year but may be extended.

Applicants should have an interest in designing and developing diverse research tools and experiments to be conducted or used on the International Space Station (ISS). Ideal candidates should have demonstrated expertise in at least one specific research area, be a creative thinker and possess strong interpersonal skills to interact with both academic and industry researchers.

The Institute, working with strategic partners including Kentucky Space, LLC; Space Tango; NASA; Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) and various R&D centers, designs and carries out novel experiments on the ISS.
