Gov. Beshear makes appointments to boards and commissions

Frankfort, Ky. – Governor Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has appointed Joshua Givens Branscum as a member of the State Board of Elections, representing the Republican Party.

  • Joshua Givens Branscum, of Russell Springs, works in business development for Branscum Construction. The appointment replaces David Martin Cross, whose term has expired. Branscum shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 15, 2018.

Gov. Beshear has appointed C. Dexter Knight as a member of the Bluegrass Community and Technical College Nominating Commission, to serve for a term expiring April 15, 2019.

  • C. Dexter Knight, of Nicholasville, is principal at Jessamine Career and Technology Center.The appointment replaces Gary C. Morris, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Richard L. Meadows as a member of the Bluegrass Community and Technical College Nominating Commission. Meadows is also designated as chair of the commission.

  • Richard L. Meadows, of Lexington, shall serve for a term expiring April 15, 2019.

Gov. Beshear has appointed James W. Gardner as a member of the Public Service Commission, to serve for a term expiring July 1, 2019.

  • James W. Gardner, of Lexington, is an attorney. The appointment replaces David Armstrong, whose term has expired. Gov. Beshear has designated Gardner to serve as chair of the commission and Daniel E. Logsdon to serve as vice chair of the commission.
