Position is new for the center
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 5, 2015) — Lisa Betson Resnik has been named director of external relations—a newly created position—at the Kentucky Science Center.
Resnik, who has 25 years of development, marketing, membership, strategic planning and operational experience, will oversee the communications, marketing and PR, development and membership departments in addition to working closely with board members. She will also serve as the executive-level internal relationship manager for talent identification, assessment and development of individuals across all roles and departments. Resnik will be part of the senior management team.
“I am thrilled to be joining this dynamic team led by Jo Haas and see great opportunities ahead for advancing the Science Center throughout Kentucky and Indiana,” she said. “I have been truly impressed with the educational programming that they accomplish inside the museum and throughout the greater Kentuckiana area.”
Prior to joining the Kentucky Science Center, Resnik was the chief operating officer/deputy director at the Speed Art Museum for the eight years. Her focus and responsibility was on the integration of operations, development, marketing, membership, customer experience, building construction, and earned income for the museum. She also oversaw the successful $60 million capital campaign for the upcoming opening of the newly expanded and renovated museum.
“Lisa is a seasoned team leader, mentor to staff and an experienced executive who is so enthused about joining our effort to increase science literacy throughout the region.,” said Jo Haas, executive director of the Science Center. “She brings a tremendous amount of passion and purpose to the job.”
