Frankfort, Ky.  – Kentucky Senate President Robert Stivers has been included in a list of the “Top Public Officials of the Year” by Governing Magazine.

The magazine cites Stivers’ ability to broker deals between state Democrats and Republicans in the annual feature.

“Like many states with split-party legislatures, Kentucky had grown accustomed in recent years to partisan gridlock that ground most lawmaking to a halt. But since Robert Stivers took over as Senate president in 2013, he’s played a key role in guiding the legislature to multiple productive sessions, addressing a range of issues important to Kentuckians,” the article says.

The article also cites Stivers’ commitment to fighting the state heroin epidemic and finding funding for infrastructure improvements.
