WKU to host USM in C-USA Football Championship on Saturday

Game will be on ESPN2

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (Nov. 30, 2015) — Western Kentucky University will host the University of Southern Mississippi in the Conference USA football championship at 11 a.m. (CST) on Saturday at Houchens LT Smith Stadium in Bowling Green. The game will be shown on ESPN2.

cusa-championshipThe Hilltoppers (10-2 overall, 8-0 in conference) and Southern Mississippi (9-3, 7-1) did not meet during the regular season.

WKU quarterback Brandon Doughty is fifth in the nation in passing yards this season, with 4,184. Doughty has thrown for a nation’s best 42 touchdowns, with only six interceptions.

WKU is averaging 44.2 points per game and has scored at least 35 points in every game except the season opener, a 14-12 victory at Vanderbilt, and a 48-20 loss at then No. 5 LSU. The Hilltoppers have surpassed 50 points five times this season and scored at least 48 points in seven games.
