Midway University receives positive accreditation

Next reaffirmation in 2025

MIDWAY, Ky. (Dec. 10, 2015) — The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Board of Trustees reaffirmed the accreditation of Midway University without requiring additional action. Midway University has been continuously accredited by SACSCOC, the regional accrediting body for higher education institutions in the Southern states, since 1949 and will face its next reaffirmation in 2025.

midway“This is a significant milestone for the institution,” said Dr. John P. Marsden, President of Midway University. “Midway has worked collaboratively and diligently since the summer of 2013 to prepare for the reaffirmation process and to ensure we continue to provide quality academic programs that support our students’ needs. Reaffirmation signals we are meeting our mission and student learning standards.

Reaffirmation of accreditation involves a long process and touches the entire campus. Midway submitted a compliance certification in September 2014, was reviewed by an off-site committee in fall 2014, and then hosted an on-site team last April

“The process of reaffirmation focuses on continuous quality improvement,” said Donna Moore Campbell, Chair of Midway University’s Board of Trustees. “Midway University is a much stronger institution after going through this rigorous review and is on track for the future.”
