CVG leads region in Certified Tourism Ambassador program training

49 employees are certified

COVINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 21, 2015) — The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG) has had 49 volunteer ambassadors, front-line employees and airport leaders complete the Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) program, making CVG the program’s largest community participant, said the Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau. Additional airport community team members will receive CTA certification in the coming months.

cvg“Our dedicated airport community often represents the first and last impression of our Region,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. “The Cincy USA CTA program is one more advantageous resource supporting CVG’s global award-winning status.”

Cincinnati USA’s CTA program is part of an industry-recognized international certification program developed by the Tourism Ambassador Institute, which has already successfully launched in 20 destinations worldwide, including Kansas City, Columbus, Houston, and Bermuda, among others. More than 10,000 individuals have achieved the CTA designation to-date, and the number continues to grow.

“More than 24 million visitors travel to our region each year, and it is vitally important that we capture every possible opportunity to make a positive impression,” said Dan Lincoln, president and CEO of the Cincinnati USA CVB. “We’re incredibly appreciative to see CVG embracing the CTA program. This group of ambassadors will enhance our destination’s reputation for years to come, helping us to attract future visitors, conventions and events.”
