DOC names new branch manager of Offender Information Services

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 7, 2015) — Robert Belen has been promoted to branch manager of Offender Information Services, Kentucky Department of Corrections Deputy Commissioner Kimberly Potter-Blair announced today. Belen began his new duties on Dec 15.

“Belen has demonstrated outstanding skills and professionalism,” said Potter-Blair. “I am confident that he will succeed in his new position as branch manager.”

Belen began his career with DOC in March 2005 as an offender information specialist in the department’s central office. In May 2006 he was promoted to the Victim Services Branch as victims advocate II. Later that year, he transferred back to OIS to serve as the open records coordinator. In July 2008, Belen was promoted to offender information supervisor over the calculation section.

In 2012, Belen was promoted to the position of offender information administrator where he supervised the calculation section, office support, and open records for OIS. In this role he conducted in-house and institutional training.

Belen is a member of the Capitol Chapter of Kentucky Council on Crime and Delinquency (KCCD).
