Gov. Bevin to promote state’s auto industry at North American International Auto Show

More than 800,000 people expected to attend

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 11, 2016) — Gov. Matt Bevin announced today that he will attend the 2016 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit to promote Kentucky’s automotive industry and speak with industry leaders.

UnknownNAIAS, which runs from Jan. 11-24, is considered by industry experts to be the largest and most prestigious automotive showcase with more than 800,000 people expected to attend. The event features more than 750 vehicles and numerous interactive displays by suppliers.

“We are wasting no time in promoting and building Kentucky’s economy,” said Bevin. “The North American Auto Show is a tremendous opportunity to discuss Kentucky’s signature auto manufacturing industry with some of the most influential industry leaders and decision makers from around the world. Our commonwealth has long been among the nation’s leading auto producers and I look forward to showing CEOs from first class companies throughout the world that Kentucky is open for business.”

Last year, the show featured the introduction of 55 vehicles, the majority of which were worldwide debuts, with more than 5,000 journalists from 60 countries in attendance. For more information on NAIAS, visit www.NAIAS.com.
