Also names chair of environmental group

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 13, 2016) — Dinsmore & Shohl LLP has named Barbara Edelman to the company’s board of directors and Carolyn Brown as chair of litigation department’s environmental group.

Barbara Edelman, a partner in the Lexington office, maintains extensive complex litigation experience focusing on commercial litigation and many types of business disputes. She has also litigated many wrongful discharge, non-competition and employment-related cases. She previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Kentucky

The board of directors consists of 18 attorneys. Three other Kentucky partners will be returning to the board: Richard H.C. Clay of Louisville, Chauncey S.R. Curtz of Lexington, and R. Kenyon Meyer of Louisville.

Brown’s Lexington practice focuses on all areas of environmental law and includes counseling on regulatory requirements, permitting and transactional issues as well as environmental litigation. She spends a significant amount of time dealing with air permitting and compliance issues, water discharge permitting and compliance issues, as well as waste management and site remediation matters.

Dinsmore has 17 practice groups that make up five legal departments. Lexington partner Linsey “Lin” W. West continues in his role as co-chair  of the Tort Practice Group in the litigation department.
