Louisville, Ky. – The Louisville Zoo has revealed a master plan that includes $180 million in expansion projects over the next 12 years.
Zoo officials presented the plan to a Louisville Metro Council committee on Thursday.
Expanded exhibits and attractions include an African savannah park, a shark tank, and improvements to existing areas, such as the Splash Park and parking lot.
The goal is to create a more engaging atmosphere for both visitors and animals.
The $180 million total is the sum of total projects, and the funding would need to come from donations from individual, corporate and foundation sources.
