Cumberland Gap sixth among National Parks in 2015 for non-recreational visitors

Had more than 8 million visitors

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 23, 2016) — The National Park Service has announced its annual park rankings for 2015, releasing statistics for 11 categories.

Cumberland Gap ranked sixth in non-recreational visitors with 8,311,786 visitors in 2015 and was sixth in non-recreational hours with 5,514,796 hours. Cumberland Gap also was 50th in RV campers with 9,230.

Mammoth Cave was 42nd in non-recreational visitors (147,471), 45th in non-recreational hours (73,736), 19th in concessioner lodging (30,146), 30th in tent campers (33,380), 44th in RV campers (11,592) and 43rd in backcountry campers (5,036).

Big South Fork was 52nd in recreation hours (4,567,508), 41st in concessioner lodging (1,316), 25th in RV campers (25,251) and 36th in backcountry campers (12,040).
