Louisville, Ky. – Helicopters will descend on Louisville March 1 – 3 for the HAI HELI-EXPO at the Kentucky Exposition Center. This industry-only event is the world’s largest exposition devoted to the civilian helicopter industry.  More than 20,000 potential buyers will travel to Louisville for the expo, which will generate approximately $9.5 million for the local economy.

Unlike other trade shows geared towards traditional airplanes, HAI HELI-EXPO is able to bring working helicopters into the exhibit halls. More than 50 helicopters, including the unveiling of many of the latest models, will fly into Louisville for this event. In addition to working helicopters, many exhibitors will have mock-ups on display.

“The Kentucky Exposition Center’s large exhibit halls are ideal for this unique tradeshow,” said Rip Rippetoe, President and CEO of the Kentucky State Fair Board.  “Ease of access and the ability for helicopters to land on-site were important deliverables in bringing this show to Louisville.”

Thousands of operators, maintenance technicians, pilots, managers and safety professionals travel from around the world to see the latest in aircraft technology. Potential buyers will be able to browse 700 exhibits, choose from more than 100 educational opportunities and network within the helicopter industry. For serious prospective buyers, exhibitors offer demo flights with several different models of helicopters taking off from the grounds of the Kentucky Exposition Center.
