Madisonville, Ky. –  The board of directors of the Madisonville Hopkins County Economic Development Corporation has named Ray Hagerman as the new President of the organization.

According to a release, Hagerman most recently served as the CEO of Four Corners Economic Development Inc in Farmington, N.M.

Hagerman, a Knoxville, Tenn., native, previously held the position of Vice President of the Dayton Development Coalition. Hagerman entered the economic development profession after finance and banking stints in Ohio and Nashville.

Hagerman brings a background in rural economic development, particularly in communities where coal and energy products are mainstays of the local economy.

“It is an honor, and a welcomed challenge, for me to have this opportunity,” Hagerman said. “Hopkins County has a lot to offer and I look forward to serving the community.”

Hagerman was chosen after a group of finalists were interviewed from across the United States. Over 50 candidates from across the country expressed interest for the position.

“Our committee realizes that this hire is of extreme importance to our community.” said Chairman Skip McGaw. “We were fortunate to have such strong interest in the position from a pool of qualified candidates. Ray was able to differentiate himself as the unanimous choice.”

Hagerman and his wife, Dona, have five adult children and will be making their home in Hopkins County. Hagerman will begin his new role as President on April 1.
