$5,000 mini grants available to address nonpoint source water pollution

UnknownOne grant for each of state’s seven major river basins

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 11 2016) — The Kentucky Division of Water (DOW) is accepting applications for $5,000 mini grants—one for each of the seven major river basins—to address nonpoint source pollution. The mini grants would fund local educational, outreach and organizational activities to improve water quality issues in the basins.

A total of $35,000 in grant money is available. Applications must be submitted by Sept. 30. Recipients will be notified of their awards on Nov. 30.

The mini grants are funded federally through the Clean Water Act 319(h) funding pool. Applications will be reviewed and ranked by a panel to determine which projects will receive funds.
