Gov. Bevin appoints Malt Beverage Administrator

Has been at Office of Human Resource Management

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 14, 2016) — Carol Beth Martin has been appointed Malt Beverage Administrator at the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, Gov. Matt Bevin and Public Protection Cabinet Secretary David A. Dickerson announced today.

“Carol Beth’s experience in administration and operational functions will serve the department well,” said Dickerson. “I am very excited about the team we have brought together at ABC and believe the agency will benefit from new leadership and will continue the excellent service provided to Kentucky communities.”

Martin has been serving as executive director of the Office of Human Resource Management at the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Previously, she was the chief of staff at the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. Her career in government began as the administrator/human resource director for Grant County Fiscal Court.

“I thank Secretary Dickerson for the opportunity and am honored to serve in this increasingly important role in Gov.Bevin’s administration,” said Martin. “In addition to ensuring state law is followed, I hope to be a partner with the alcoholic beverage industry encouraging its economic development potential.”

Originally from Campbell County, Martin holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kentucky and a master’s in public administration from the University of Kentucky Martin School of Public Policy and Administration.

She and husband Scott live in Louisville with their two daughters.
