Two more games tonight at Rupp
LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 17, 2016) — Six of the eight spots in the final eight of the Whitaker Bank/KHSAA Boys Sweet Sixteen Basketball Tournament have been punched.
Doss defeated Lawrence County 66-57 today at Rupp Arena in Lexington, while South Laurel knocked off Christian County in the second game 53-50. At 6:30 tonight Mason County meets Taylor County. Following that game South Oldham plays Owensboro Catholic.
Doss and South Laurel will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, with the winners of tonight’s games playing at 8 p.m. on Friday.
On Wednesday Bowling Green beat Elliott County 75-59, Murray beat Buckhorn 62-35, Newport Central Catholic beat Trinity 48-33 and Paul Laurence Dunbar beat Mercer County 58-55.
At noon on Friday Murray plays Newport Central Catholic. At 1:30 p.m. Dunbar plays Bowling Green.
Semifinals are on Saturday, with the championship at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
