Georgetown Community Hospital chief recognized as ‘CEO of the Year’

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (March 18, 2016) — Georgetown Community Hospital CEO William Haugh has been named “CEO of the Year” by LifePoint Health. The annual award is presented to an outstanding leader within the LifePoint family who exemplifies the company’s core values of honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, compassion, and ethical and legal compliance, while demonstrating excellence in business operations and talent development.

Haugh joined LifePoint in 2007 as an administrative resident and quickly progressed through various leadership roles until ultimately becoming CEO of Georgetown in 2012.

Scott Raplee, president of LifePoint’s Central Group, praised Haugh’s leadership qualities and commitment to fostering a positive and engaging culture while driving significant hospital growth, despite a challenging environment.

“Since William joined Georgetown, he has overcome obstacles and broken down barriers to successfully re-energize the hospital staff and physicians and drive significant improvements in patient care and safety,” said Raplee. “With his friendly, caring and approachable leadership style, William has transformed the culture at Georgetown by fostering teamwork and focusing on improving quality and service for patients and families.”

Under Haugh’s leadership the hospital has grown across almost all indicators and experienced significant improvements in physician satisfaction and engagement. The 2015 mean physician satisfaction score ranks Georgetown in the 93rd percentile nationally.

“William has worked extremely hard to help grow the hospital so it can evolve to better meet the changing needs of the Georgetown community,” said Raplee. “A highly-respected and accomplished leader, he has taken the hospital to new heights with his visionary leadership, commitment to quality and passion for serving others. We are so proud of William and the work he is doing at Georgetown, and we couldn’t be more pleased to recognize him with this award.”
