Northern Kentucky grocery store owners purchase Campbell County golf course

Flagg Springs Golf Course will re-open April 23

CALIFORNIA, Ky. (April 12, 2016) — Vic Dawn and Scott Schoulties, Campbell County natives and residents who operate the successful Riverside grocery store chain in Northern Kentucky, have purchased the Flagg Springs Golf Course.

home_pic04A 19-year-old public golf course sits on more than 120 rolling acres of lush Campbell County countryside where the AA Highway meets Smith Road just north of the Pendleton County line.

Dawn and Schoulties—who operate Marketplace grocery stores in Dayton, Ludlow, and California—purchased the course from Northern Kentucky businessman Jack Morris. Terms were not disclosed.

“What I’ve learned from many years in the grocery business is that if you give people what they want, they will come,” Dawn said. “We are going to give people great golf, food, and drinks at a good value, and we are going to make sure they have a fun and challenging experience playing golf.”

The course, which is temporarily closed, will re-open April 23.
