Louisville’s Community Services Block Grant Plan open to public comment

Plan outlines programs and services for Community Action Partnership

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 20, 2016) — The public may inspect the Louisville Metro Department of Community Services’ 2016-2017 Community Services Block Grant Annual Plan online now through Friday, April 29, 2016.

The Annual Plan outlines service programs and financing provided through Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) funds in Jefferson County.  CSBG provides federal funding to Community Action Agencies across the nation that addresses the causes and conditions of poverty at the community level.

Locally, CSBG is administered by the city’s Department of Community Services. An advisory board with one-third public sector representation, one-third private sector representation and one-third community sector representation makes recommendations to the Community Services’ Director.

Any interested agencies, groups, or persons may submit comments regarding the proposed plan to the CSBG Annual Plan Comment Form, fax to (502) 574-5548, or postal mail to the Community Services’ office at 701 W.
