Franklin County had highest Primary Election voter turnout, Knox County lowest

20.65% of registered voters cast ballots

FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 20, 2016) — Franklin County voters were the most vocal at the polls on Tuesday, with a state-leading 39.93 percent of registered voters casting ballots, according to the Secretary of State’s Office. Statewide, 20.65 percent of registered voters voted—669,850 out of 3,243,078.

Monroe County had 37.63 percent of registered voters cast ballots, followed by: Breathitt County, 32.77 percent; Lee County, 32.01 percent; Barren County, 31.16 percent; Webster County, 30.56 percent; Metcalfe County, 30.32 percent; Hickman County, 29.85 percent; and Graves County, 29.07 percent.

The lowest total was in Knox County, with only 11.19 percent of registered voters voting. Next was McCreary County, 11.3 percent; Grant County, 12.12 percent; Harlan County, 12.19 percent; martin County, 12.23 percent; Boone County, 12.29 percent; and Wayne County, 12.62 percent.
