HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (May 26, 2016) — Dr. Daniel Nadler has been named vice president for Student Affairs at Northern Kentucky University. Nadler currently serves in the same role at Eastern Illinois University. He will begin at NKU on July 18.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Nadler to NKU,” said NKU President Geoffrey S. Mearns. “Daniel has dedicated his career to teaching, research, and service. For more than 30 years, he has worked to build a rich and engaging experience for students at both public and private institutions. He brings an impressive depth of experience to our campus that will strengthen our student support and retention efforts.”

Nadler will provide direction and guidance for advancing the University’s strategic priorities of inclusive excellence and student retention and graduation. He will be an advocate for students and advise other senior administrators on matters of student success.

“I am honored and excited for the opportunity to join President Mearns and the NKU leadership team,” said Dr. Nadler. “NKU has a strong commitment to student success, as evidenced by the priorities set out in its strategic plan.  I see the Division of Student Affairs and our excellent staff as contributing to President Mearns’ Fuel the Flame plan to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the University’s founding.  I look forward to building and strengthening dynamic and innovative programs that will meet the needs of our diverse student body.”

The position provides direct leadership over a wide variety of NKU departments, including those within Student Conduct and Engagement (which includes Campus Recreation; Early Childhood Center; Fraternity and Sorority Life; Health, Counseling, and Student Wellness; Student Conduct, Rights, and Responsibilities; Student Engagement; the Student Union and Programming; and University Housing) and Student Inclusiveness (which includes African American Programs and Services; Disability Programs and Services; Educational Talent Search; Latino Programs and Services; LEAP; LGBTQ Programs and Services; and Upward Bound).

Prior to his tenure at Eastern Illinois, Nadler served in a number of roles at Tulane University, culminating with associate vice president for Student Affairs. He has also served as director of Orientation and Parent/Family Programs and assistant director of Student Life at Southern Illinois University.

Nadler earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education, his M.S. in Speech Communication, and his B.S. in Liberal Studies, all from Southern Illinois University.
