FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 7, 2016) — Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) has shut down a moonshine still operation discovered on Spout Springs Road in Estill County.

Agents seized the moonshine still, 12 one-gallon containers of moonshine, a bag of empty jugs, a record book and a small amount of marijuana.

The investigation began last week after Kentucky State Police found the operational moonshine still while investigating a separate complaint at the residence located on the property.

A criminal summons will be obtained for Ronald Ballou, who will be charged with possession of an apparatus used for unlawful manufacture of alcoholic beverages, unlawful possession/trafficking of alcoholic beverage in dry territory and possession of marijuana.
