Second downtown market to close since December
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 9, 2016) — Downtown Lexington is losing another market. Shorty’s Market & Tap Room, located at 163 West Short St., will close its doors on Saturday, the Lexington Herald-Leader reports. Town Branch Market, a few blocks away on East Main Street, closed in December.
Bob Estes, owner of Shorty’s, said the space will be remodeled, but it wasn’t clear what would take over the location. Shorty’s, which sells groceries and has a deli and tap room, opened in May 2011. It closed once before in September 2013 before re-opening in January 2014.
