Brown-Forman executive Michael McShane to retire

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Jun. 9, 2016) — Brown-Forman announced today that Michael McShane, senior vice president, managing director of the company’s Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia region, will retire on Oct. 31, 2016.

McShane and his team were recognized by the Australia Beverage Industry as the “Supplier of the Year” in 2015. In addition, he successfully implemented an ambitious Brown-Forman brand-building strategy resulting in a number of coveted industry awards, including “Best Sales Achievements” for the Jack Daniel’s trademark.

“Under Michael’s leadership, Jack Daniel’s has become Australia’s most valuable spirits brand based on share and value growth,” said Brown-Forman President, Europe, North Asia, and ANZSEA Thomas Hinrichs. “We congratulate Michael on his successful Brown-Forman career and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

McShane’s 17-year career at Brown-Forman started in 1999 as finance director for Brown-Forman Beverages based in Sydney after serving in a variety of roles for Swift & Moore, then distributor for Brown-Forman brands in Australia.
