Louisville Metro Government awarded for Financial Reporting

Honored for sixth consecutive year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 13, 2016) — For the sixth consecutive year Louisville Metro Government has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the U.S. and Canada (GFOA).

The certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. It recognizes that the city’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report meets the GFOA’s high standards, “including demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the annual report.”

“Our Office of Management and Budget works every day to ensure our city’s financial integrity and the GFOA award affirms that work,” said Mayor Greg Fischer.

GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving about 17,500 government finance professionals in North America.
