Governor announces appointments to boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 1, 2012) – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Kentucky Horse Park Commission to serve for terms expiring Jan. 14, 2016:

 

  • Luther Deaton of Nicholasville, the president and CEO of Central Bank & Trust Co.

 

  • W.B. Rogers Beasley of Lexington, the director of racing for Keeneland Association.

 

  • Alston M. Kerr of Lexington, a volunteer and an accountant. Kerr shall serve as chair of the commission.

 

Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky State Corrections Commission:

 

  • Mickey L. Goff of Frankfort, a paralegal at Marvin Coles Law Office. She represents business and industry. The appointment replaces Melanie Dawn Watts-Hinkle, whose term has expired. Goff shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2014.

 

  • Philip E. Mullins of Pembroke, the owner of Mullins Logistics Inc. He represents business and industry. The appointment replaces Michael J. Bauer, whose term has expired. Mullins shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2014.

 

  • Danny R. Allen of Cecilia, the jailer for Hardin County. He represents county jailers. The appointment replaces Danny Fackler, whose term has expired. Allen shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2015.

 

Beshear has reappointed the following members to the commission:

 

  • James H. Mooneyhan of Franklin, the sports director at Franklin Favorite and WFKN Radio. He represents members at large. Mooneyhan shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2014.

 

  • John L. Kiesel of Louisville, a physician at Central State Hospital in Louisville. He represents service providers. Kiesel shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2014.

 

  • Laura B. Roberts of Wilder, the former assistant director from the Campbell County Department of Housing. She currently works part-time at the Campbell County Detention Center. She represents service providers. Roberts shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2014.

 

  • Faye S. Liebermann of Lexington, a former labor executive. She represents labor. Lieberman shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2014.

 

  • Mike Breen of Bowling Green,  an attorney. He represents practicing attorneys. Breen shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2014.

 

  • Patricia A. Byron of Louisville, a retiree. She represents members at large. Byron shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2014.

 

  • Sarah A. Brady of Covington, a homemaker. She represents crime victims. Brady shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2015.

 

  • Harold “Shorty” Tomlinson of Carrollton, the Carroll County Judge/Executive. He represents county judge/executives. Tomlinson shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2015.

 

  • Karyn B. Hascal of Louisville, the director of mental health and substance abuse for the Kentucky Department of Corrections. She represents service providers. Hascal shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2015.

 

  • Billy Wayne Thompson of Manchester, the director of substance abuse services for the Cumberland River Comprehensive Care Center. He represents service providers. Thompson shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2015.
