Median and average prices also up in 2016
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 15, 2016) — Through the first six months of 2016 sales of homes and condos in the Louisville area were up 8.3 percent, according to the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors. This year’s June sales were slighter lower than June 2015, 1,801 to 1,873. The median price for all areas through the first six months of 2016 was up 1.9 percent and the average price was up 0.4 percent.
In Jefferson County the average price in June was $207,619 and the median was $168,00. For all areas the inventory of available properties was 20.6 percent lower than at this time last year. In Jefferson County the decreased inventory of homes and condos for sale was 24.8 percent lower than June 2015.
