Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 15, 2016) — Gov. Matt Bevin has made appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions.

Appointments:

  • Harold G. Campbell has been appointed to the Kentucky Nature Preserves Commission. Campbell, of Richmond, is a retired banker. Campbell will serve for a term expiring July 1, 2019.
  • Tim Hatfield has been appointed to the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky Board of Directors. Hatfield, of Belfry, is an attorney. Hatfield will serve for a term expiring May 15, 2022.
  • Michael G. Adams has been appointed to the State Board of Elections. Adams, of Louisville, is an Attorney with Chalmers Pak Burch & Adams LLC. Adams will be representing the Republican Party and will serve for a term expiring April 1, 2020.
  • George W. Russell has been reappointed to the State Board of Elections. Russell, of Frankfort, is a retired election consultant. Russell has been reappointed representing the Democratic Party and will serve for a term expiring April 1, 2020.
  • Paul W. Wilson has been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Barbering. Wilson, of Russell Springs, is a master barber. Wilson will be representing master barbers and will serve for a term expiring Feb. 1, 2019.
  • Charles G. Snavely has been appointed to the Southern States Energy Board. Snavely currently serves as Secretary of the Energy and Environment Cabinet. Snavely will represent the Governor’s office.
  • Shari “George” Polur has been appointed to the Kentucky Assistive Technology Loan Corporation (KATLC) Board of Directors. Polur, of Louisville, is an attorney. Polur will serve for a term expiring Feb. 25, 2020.
  • Frances Yvonne Bartley has been appointed to the Breast Cancer Research and Education Trust Fund (BCTF) Board. Bartley, of Glasgow, will be representing breast cancer survivors. Bartley will serve the remainder of an unexpired term ending Oct. 24, 2017.
  • Diane E. Whalen has been appointed to the Animal Control Advisory Board. Whalen is Mayor of Florence. Whalen will be representing the Kentucky league of Cities and shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 26, 2020.
  • Terry A. Rowlett has been appointed to the Animal Control Advisory Board. Rowlett, of Campbellsburg, is a dairy farmer. Rowlett will be representing Kentucky farm Bureau and shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 26, 2020.
  • Mark S. Smith has been appointed to the Animal Control Advisory Board. Smith, of Barbourville, is a veterinarian at Knox Co. Veterinary Services, Inc. Smith will be representing the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association and shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 26, 2020.
  • Michael “Big Mike” Johnson has been appointed to the Martin Luther King, Jr. State Commission. Johnson, of Lexington, is an ordained minister. Johnson has been designated Chair and will serve for a term expiring Dec. 12, 2019.
  • Waymen Eddings has been appointed to the Martin Luther King, Jr. State Commission. Eddings, of Louisville, is a business owner. Rowlett will serve for a term expiring Dec. 12, 2019.
  • Cliff-Ed Irvin has been appointed to the State Board of Auctioneers. Irvin, of Lancaster, is a realtor and auctioneer. Irvin will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020.
  • Bradford P. Stengel has been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Architects. Stengel, of Louisville, is an architect. Stengel shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 9, 2020.
  • John M. Stanton has been appointed to the Governor’s Scholars Program Board of Directors. Stanton, of Edgewood, is a former Governor’s Scholar and the Director of External Affairs for Kenton County. Stanton holds a degree in Economics from Centre College and received his JD from Vanderbilt University.
  • Stephen A. Coleman has been appointed to the Kentucky Water Resources Board. Coleman, of Frankfort, is retired from state government. Coleman is representing Kentucky Farm Bureau and shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2019.
  • Kevin Jeffries has been appointed to the Kentucky Water Resources Board. Jeffries, of Crestwood, is a self-employed farmer. Jeffries is representing the Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts and shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2020.
  • Kevin Rogers has been appointed to the Kentucky Water Resources Board. Rogers, of Lexington, is the Vice-President of Operations for Kentucky American Water. Rogers is representing the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2020.
  • Lloyd R. Cress, Jr. has been appointed to the Kentucky Water Resources Board. Cress, Jr., of Lexington, is an attorney with Dinsmore and Shohl, LLP. Cress is representing the Kentucky League of Cities and shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2018.
  • Earl Bush has been appointed to the Kentucky Water Resources Board. Bush, of Brooksville, is the County Judge/Executive of Bracken County. Bush is representing the Kentucky County Judge/Executive Association and shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2019.
  • John M. Dix has been appointed to the Kentucky Water Resources Board. Dix, of Bowling Green, is the General Manager of Warren County Water District. Dix is representing the Kentucky Rural Water Association and shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2018.
  • Andrew J. Cole has been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service. Cole, of Crestview Hills, is the director of Campus Ministry for Thomas More College. Cole will be representing individuals with expertise in educational, training and developmental needs of the youth and shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 3, 2017. He is filling an unexpired term due to a resignation.
  • DeAnna L. Brangers has been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service. Brangers, of Prospect, is a homemaker. Brangers is filling an unexpired term, due to a resignation, and will serve until Jan. 3, 2017.
