KCTCS students chosen to serve on Board of Regents

Two students selected

VERSAILLES, Ky. (Aug. 10, 2016) — Two students were elected by their Student Government Association (SGA) peers to serve on the Kentucky Community and Technical College System’s (KCTCS) Board of Regents and to serve as student body co-presidents.

Ellen Braden of Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) and Montre’ale Jones of Hopkinsville Community College (HCC) will serve one-year terms on the board and as student body co-presidents. Their terms begin immediately and continue through August 2017.

Braden lives in Owensboro and is pursuing an associate of arts degree at OCTC. She was elected as the college’s 2016-17 SGA president. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and an active community volunteer.

Jones lives in Hopkinsville and is pursuing an associate of science degree at HCC. He was elected as the college’s 2016-17 SGA president. His activities include Phi Theta Kappa, Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS), the National Society of Leadership and Success, Christian County 4-H Co-advisor, and HCC’s Minority Student Union.
