Surplus sale of government furniture set for Monday in Frankfort

Surplus created after offices were moved

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Aug. 11, 2016) — Several state agencies recently moved out of the converted bourbon warehouses at the complex located at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort. The buildings will be used to store bourbon.

The move has created a surplus of more than a thousand chairs and hundreds of files, shelving, tables, partitions and other items that will be sold from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 200 Fair Oaks Ln. in Frankfort. Everything will be sold together in one lot. All four floors will be open for inspection for prospective bidders.

The highest bidder at 1 p.m. must pay in full at that time with cash, cashier’s or certified check made payable to the “Kentucky State Treasurer”. Personal checks will only be accepted with a bank letter of credit guaranteeing payment.

Pictures and details about moving the furniture out by Aug. 30 are online. Go to finance.ky.gov and click on public auction information.
