Kentucky State Fair opens tonight with ribbon-cutting at 5:30

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 18, 2016) — The Kentucky State Fair opens today at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. Gov. Matt Bevin, Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and other state and local leaders will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:30 tonight on the Family Stage in South Wing C Lobby. The public is invited to attend.

“The Bevin Family invites all Kentuckians to join us this year at the Kentucky State Fair,” said Gov. Bevin. “Load up your vehicles and bring your own family and friends to the fairgrounds in Louisville. There will be lots of activities, concerts and food for everyone to enjoy. We look forward to seeing you there.”

The Main Stage Concert Series opens at 7:30 tonight at Freedom Hall with Reba McEntire and special guest Parmalee. Some tickets are still available. The first free concert, featuring ABBA the Concert, with special guest Kazual, begins at 8 tonight in Cardinal Stadium.

The fair runs through Aug. 28.
