Walmart adds online grocery shopping service at some Kentucky locations

Now available in Louisville, La Grange, Middletown, New Albany

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 22, 2016) — Four Walmart stores in the Louisville/Southern Indiana area have added a new feature that allows customers to order groceries online and pick them up the same day, reports Louisville Business First. The service if free, with a required $30 minimum purchase.

How it works is that customers shop for groceries online, select a pickup location and time, then, after receiving an email confirmation, pick up the items at a designated parking spot. More than 30,000 items are available, according to Walmart. Kroger began offering a similar service earlier this year at some locations.

Stores that have added the new feature are:

  • 1015 New Moody Lane, La Grange
  • 2910 Grant Line Road, New Albany
  • 7101 Cedar Springs Blvd., Louisville
  • 12981 Shelbyville Road, Middletown
