Bourbon barrel maker plans to invest $20.2M, create 75 jobs to expand in Laurel County

Hopkinsville business considering expansion that would create 10 jobs

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 26, 2016) — East Bernstadt Cooperage, LLC, which manufactures bourbon barrels and wood chip products, is considering investing $20.2 million to construct a new facility to expand operations in East Bernstadt to increase barrel production. The Laurel County expansion would create 75 new jobs at an average salary of $15.05 per hour.

Other investments:

  • Bed Wood and Parts, LLC, which manufactures and sells bed kits for classic vehicle restorations available in more than 20 species of wood for trucks and SUVs, plans to invest $3.7 million to expand operations in Hopkinsville. The expansion is necessary to meet an increased demand for products. Expansion would initially create 10 jobs at $36 per hour, with an expected increase to 42 jobs in five years.
  • CR Machine Shop, LLC, a new business opportunity that manufactures replacement parts primarily for the construction and mining industry, is considering purchasing equipment and an existing building in Hopkins County. The $1 million investment would create 14 jobs at an hourly wage of $28.50.
