Global Game Changers to host fundraiser Sept. 16 at Louisville’s largest escape room party

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 6, 2016) – The Global Game Changers Children’s Education Initiative is hosting the inaugural “Great Cape Escape”  fundraiser on Fri., Sept. 16, beginning at 5 p.m., at 4th Street’s Locked In: The Louisville Escape Game.

In an experience unlike any fundraiser Louisville has ever seen, nearly 200 people will go through one of four ‘escape’ rooms at Locked In followed by dinner and drinks from Mi Cocina across the street. Fourth Street will be closed from Muhammed Ali to Chestnut, and Kelly K from the Ben Davis and Kelly K Show will emcee from a stage on 4th Street with trivia, raffles, games, and music. The winning team with the best
“escape time” will be decorated with Superhero capes at the end of the night.

The Global Game Changers Children’s Education Initiative delivers programs to at-risk children that empowers them and teaches them how they can make a difference in their community. Each program enhances academic outcomes and improves social-emotional skills. Children who have participated in GGC’s programs have experienced an increase in positive climate, interactions, belonging and a reduction in bullying incidences. They have also demonstrated a positive impact on their power to help others and their motivation to do so. To learn more about the Global Game Changers, you can visit www.globalgamechangers.org.

Individual tickets are still available for purchase, at $100 a person for the Locked In “escape experience,” or $75 for a ‘non-escape’ ticket. All tickets include food, 3 drink tickets, music, and prizes. You can visit www.TheGreatCapeEscape.org to purchase tickets and learn more.

“This is such a unique fundraiser that we think people will get excited about. There is nothing else like it. Escape Rooms are really popular right now and we have a great partner with Locked In on 4th street. It should be a great night of fun for a good cause,” said Justin Walker, Executive
Director of Global Game Changers Children’s Education Initiative.

“We are really excited about working with the Global Game Changers on this event. Guests of Locked In will have thirty minutes to find clues, solve puzzles, crack codes in an effort to unlock a door and escape. Nothing scary, nothing crazy, just fun!” said Bill Kervaski, CEO and Founder of “Locked In: The Louisville Escape Game.”

Global Game Changers was selected as a recipient of a Fall 2016 Yum! IGNITES Louisville Challenge Team. The Ignite Louisville team is supporting GGC in their effort to create a unique signature fundraiser event. To find out more about Ignite Louisville you can visit
