Union now offering online MBA program

Union College is now offering a fully online Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program. Students can enroll now for the first class, beginning on Oct. 17, at only $340 per credit hour.

“Union College looks to the community and the region to shape the programs we offer,” says Dr. David Johns, Vice-President for Academic Affairs. “Part of Union’s mission is to support our region and we feel this program will serve many who in turn will help strengthen the economy of Appalachia.”

Union’s MBA program will consist of 30 credit hours. MBA students should have an undergraduate degree in business or may complete Union’s foundational courses prior to application. The degree can be completed in less than 24 months.

Union’s MBA students will gain the knowledge they need to advance in their careers. They will build upon the skills they already have and develop others that are valued in today’s competitive workplace.

Union’s coursework for the MBA program can be completed totally online and is supported by a 24/7 online learning network. MBA students have the flexibility to manage the coursework to meet their busy schedules and will not have a required log-in time.

“We have developed a program that will help students make a difference in their careers and in the workplace, but it also recognizes students must balance their existing careers with their coursework,” Dr. Johns said.

Dr. Johns said online students are not required to come to the Barbourville campus, but are always welcome to take advantage of Union’s resources at the Weeks-Townsend Memorial Library or Sharp Academic Center. The College also has a dedicated on-campus liaison, Amanda Maggard, who assists students in coursework and career planning.

“All of Union College’s online programs offer the same personal attention for students that our on-campus programs provide to traditional students,” said Maggard. “We want our online students to know there is always someone within reach at Union College to assist them with whatever need they have.”

Maggard says she can help students apply to the program, navigate the financial aid process, and be ready for their first class on October 17.
