Information sessions for displaced ITT students set for Wednesday and Thursday

Will be held in Lexington and Lousiville

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 12, 2016) — The Council on Postsecondary Education, in conjunction with Bluegrass Community and Technical College and Jefferson Community and Technical College, will hold two information sessions for displaced ITT students, following ITT’s abrupt closure of its Lexington and Louisville campuses last week.

The information sessions are:

  • Wednesday from 4:30-8 p.m.at the Leestown Campus of the Bluegrass Community and Technical College, Lexington
  • Thursday from 4:30-8 p.m. at the Downtown Campus of Jefferson Community College, Louisville.

“In the wake of ITT’s closing, students were left with so much uncertainty related to their educational futures,” said Council President Bob King. “We hope these sessions will provide students with the information they need to transition to another institution to complete their degrees.”

In addition to the host institutions, students will also have the opportunity to explore college options with representatives from other institutions.

Officials from the U.S. Department of Education, Department of Veteran Affairs and the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority will be available to talk with students about their financial aid options.

Students should bring their transcripts or grade reports and any industry certifications, which could allow them to earn credit for past experiences.
