Informational meeting Sept. 27 on Mountain Parkway Expansion

Will be held at Magoffin County High School

SALYERSVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 14, 2016) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will hold an informational meeting on the Mountain Parkway Expansion from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 27 at Magoffin County High School. The focus of the meeting will be to share information about construction activities starting in Salyersville.

The meeting will serve as a preview of the three-year construction project to improve safety and mobility along Salyersville’s Restaurant Row. The project runs along a nearly 2½ mile corridor – from just east the end of the current Mountain Parkway to just east of the KY 114/US 460 junction (Rock House Road).

Over the next three years, the main roadway will be widened to four lanes and converted to a partially controlled parkway that will improve the flow of traffic through Restaurant Row while ensuring access to businesses, residences and other facilities. The project also includes improving and expanding a system of local access roads along what will become an extension of the Mountain Parkway.
