Lexington to launch Green Check, a sustainable business program

The City of Lexington is launching a new sustainable business program, Green Check.

This certification program recognizes businesses and organizations for their green practices, and helps them expand their sustainability efforts.

Green Check is funded by the city and implemented through a contract with Bluegrass Greensource.

Six businesses will be recognized at the launch (3:30 p.m.  Sept. 29 at Ross Tarrant Architects, 101 Old Lafayette Ave. in Lexington) for their help in piloting the program: Trane, Lexmark, Good Foods Coop, Bullhorn Creative, Habitat for Humanity and Ross Tarrant Architects.
