Campus Safety Summit Friday at Eastern Kentucky University

More than 20 schools to be represented

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 22, 2016) — The Council on Postsecondary Education and Eastern Kentucky University will host the state’s first Campus Safety Summit from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday at EKU’s Perkins Building. Staff from more than 20 public and private campuses will attend.

Featuring national and state experts, the summit will present best practices on key topics, including guns on campus, cyber safety, crisis communications, student mental health and binge and underage drinking.

September is National Campus Safety Awareness Month. The statewide event serves as a professional development focus for leadership and staff charged with ensuring the safety of Kentucky’s college students and staff.
