LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 4, 2016) — Spalding University has named Joanne Berryman provost, the institution’s chief academic officer.

Berryman joined Spalding in 2009 and has served as professor and dean of the Kosair Charities College of Health and Natural Sciences. Prior to joining Spalding, she served as the president and CEO of Frazier Rehab Institute and senior vice president of Jewish Hospital and St. Mary’s HealthCare.

Since 2009, Berryman has led and expanded academic programs at Spalding in nursing, occupational therapy, athletic training, psychology and social work, as well as natural science programs for students seeking pre-medicine, pre-dentistry or pre-veterinary medicine.

An expanded focus under Berryman’s leadership has been the interdisciplinary approach embraced across all programs at Spalding.
