Two miles of KY 72 in Harlan County to be resurfaced

Residents have expressed concern over road conditions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 28, 2016) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced today that a two mile section of KY 72 in Harlan County will be resurfaced to address the potential safety concerns of the roadway.

Crews recently paved the center line of KY 72; however, the raised surface caused concerns among residents driving along the highway.

The $173,500 project will begin at KY 2425 extending north to U.S. 421 from mile points 8.614 to 10.840.

A timeline for completion has not been determined.
