Kentucky Humanities Council names executive director

Effective Jan. 1, 2017

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 1, 2016) — Bill Goodman has been named executive director of the Kentucky Humanities Council, Inc., effective Jan. 1, 2017.

A native of Glasgow, Goodman has served as host and managing editor of the Emmy Award-winning public affairs series Kentucky Tonight on KET since 1996. He also serves as host for Education Matters, KET’s election night coverage and One to One with Bill Goodman.

Goodman, who holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Spalding University, was inducted into the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame in 2013.

The Kentucky Humanities Council’s services and programs, hosted by local organizations and schools, have reached more than 100,000 Kentuckians every year since 1972. The council has invested more than $14 million in sharing Kentucky’s stories with the people of the commonwealth.
