Includes offspring of American Pharoah
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 3, 2016) — Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock Sale begins Tuesday and runs through Nov. 20.
The sale features 4,762 cataloged horses. Horses of racing age will be offered from Nov. 14-15. Broodmares cataloged include the first mares in foal to 2015 Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner American Pharoah, who entered stud this year.
Headlining last year’s November Sale was champion Take Charge Brandi, who sold for $6 million to be the world’s highest-priced Thoroughbred sold at public auction in 2015. For the second consecutive year, the November Sale established a North American record price for a weanling when a filly by War Front out of Grade 1 winner Take Charge Lady (Take Charge Brandi’s second dam) sold for $3.2 million.
