LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 4, 2016) — Online job postings for lightweighting-related advanced manufacturing occupations in Kentucky increased from 7,892 to 8,123—2.9 percent—from the second to third quarter of 2016, according to analysis from WIN (Workforce Intelligence Network).

The top in-demand lightweighting-related occupations in the third quarter in Kentucky:

  • Laborers and Freight, Stock and Material Movers — 1,476 postings
  • Maintenance and Repair Workers — 1,169 postings
  • Production Workers — 550 postings
  • Inspectors, Testers, Sorters, Samplers and Weighers — 528 postings
  • First-Line Supervisors of Production and Operation Workers — 369 postings

“Since Q2 2015, job postings have remained at consistent highs, above 7,000, each quarter indicating sustained demand for workers here in the Bluegrass State,” said Greg Higdon, president and CEO, Kentucky Association of Manufacturers. “As we work to develop our state’s advanced manufacturing environment and see increased employment levels, having available, in-demand talent here at home is critical for continued growth in the manufacturing industry.”
